Medical Training

Days and dates are tentative and subject to change based on enrollments.

Most books and materials are included in the tuition cost. Some books will be provided for classroom use only, but are available for purchase. Background checks that may be required by some employers are available at an additional cost. Uniforms, if required, are available at an additional cost.

 

 
  BASIC PHLEBOTOMY ~ 24 hours  
  This is a basic course designed for individuals currently working in a medical profession, but desire the skills associated with phlebotomy. The course provides instruction and practical application in the skill of venipuncture (blood drawing). General information on venipuncture, capillary puncture techniques, and collection of specimens will be provided.

  ADVANCED PHLEBOTOMY ~ (24 hours)  
  The Advanced Phlebotomy program provides students with hands-on experience in a clinical setting. This class requires successful completion of Basic Phlebotomy, and is only scheduled if clinical sites are available. $459  

 
  MEDICAL CORE CURRICULUM ~133 hours  
  This program provides the Introduction to the Medical Profession, Computer Applications, Anatomy & Physiology with Medical Terminology, and Career Development classes in a four-day per week format. The 9:00 am - 2:00 pm class times make it convenient for parents of school-aged children. Students may choose to move on to any one of the medical specialty programs after completion of this program.

  BASIC MEDICAL BILLING & CODING ~ 36 hours  
  This class provides an introduction to insurance billing in the medical profession. Students will be exposed to ICD and CPT coding and how to prepare medical billing.

  ADVANCED MEDICAL BILLING & CODING ~ 36 hours  
  Learn more advanced skills and coding using the ICD and CPT coding. Charting and more detailed applications are included.

  INTRO TO THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONS ~ 24 hours  
  This course provides information about a career in the medical profession. Specific skills will be learned to help the students understand confidentiality laws, medical ethics, and communication skills. Students may choose to continue their studies in a number of medical support specialties.

  ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY WITH MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY ~ 60 hours  
  This course uses an integrated approach for teaching medical terminology and anatomy. It assists students in mastering terminology and incorporating this knowledge through an understanding of anatomy and physiology. In this way, beginning students learn the purpose and use of medical terms they are using.

  PHARMACOLOGY ~60 hours  
  Learn basic pharmacology, including drug classifications, controlled substances, inventory management, prescription information, labeling, regulations, and much more. Work with pharmacy calculations is included. This course is ideal for someone currently working in a pharmacy who wants to learn more and take a national certification examination.
