MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN - Certificate Program

Certified
Mental Health Technicians (CMHTs), also called
psychiatric aides, can add job security, higher
salary, and open doors to unique job opportunities.
CMHTs work with mentally challenged, emotionally
disturbed, or psychiatric patients under the
supervision of a psychiatrist, registered nurse, or
social worker. They participate in developing and
carrying out therapeutic treatment plans for
patients with emotional disabilities, dementia, or
Alzheimers disease. The cost of the program

NURSING
ASSISTANT Certificate Program ~ 150 hours |
|
This
program is designed to prepare students for the
State of Delaware Certification Examination to
become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). You will
be scheduled for a required minimum of 150 hours of
training. Seventy-five hours of classroom and lab
training will be conducted at Sussex Tech. There
will be an additional 75 hours of clinical training
performed at local health care facilities. Most
nursing assistant training and positions require the
ability to lift. This course is taught by a team of
registered nurses from our area with experience in
many different patient care settings. Upon
successful completion of the course, you must pass
both the written and skills state tests to become
certified. Criminal background check, drug screen
and tuberculin skin test are required prior to entry
into the program. An orientation session is required
for this program.

MAKE-UP HOURS
All missed scheduled classrooms or clinical hours

Workforce Investment Board. Students will be
selected based upon the eligibility criteria. This
approved Workforce Investment Act program is an
